Avoid using this medication if you are:

have unexplained vaginal bleeding, porphyria (an inherited blood disorder), breast or genital organ cancer, or are at risk for breast or genital organ cancer, have had a previous abortion, or have had a blood clot due to thrombophlebitis (swollen veins), thromboembolic disorder (a blocked blood vessel), or a stroke.
