Eeach gramme contaions: Fusidic acid 20 mg
Betamethasone as valerate 1 mg Preserved with chlorocresol.
Indications
Fucicort is indicated in inflammatory dermatoses where bacterial infection is present likely to accur. Inflammatory dermatoses include atopic eczema, discoid eczema, stasis eczema, seborrhoeic, dermatisis, contact dermatisis, lichen simplex chronicus, psoriasis, duscoid lumus erythematosus.
How does Fucidin work?
Fucidin contains the active ingredient fusidic acid, which is an antibacterial agent used to treat a number of bacterial skin infections.
It works in the bacterial cell by preventing the production of essential proteins necessary for the growth and survival of the bacteria. It is effective against several bacterial species and used in the treatment of infections such as impetigo (characterised by blistering and yellowish-brown crusting of the skin), whitlow (paronchya) and inflammation of hair follicles (sycosis). It is also used to treat eczema or dermatitis that has become infected (secondary infections).

Not to be used in
Infections caused by the bacterium pseudomonas aeruginosa
