Betagel 0.05% Ointment is similar to the naturally occurring steroidal hormones (hydrocortisone/cortisone) produced by the adrenal glands. It is used to treat internal and external swelling associated with diseases like asthma, colitis, arthritis, severe skin allergies etc. It is also used for other conditions like adrenal hormonal insufficiency, certain types of anemia, cerebral edema etc.

  This medicine is used to reduce or prevent swelling and irritation associated with conditions like asthma, colitis etc.
• Joint inflammation
  This medicine is used to relieve swelling and pain associated with diseases like arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, gout etc.
• Eye inflammation
  This medicine is used to relieve swelling, irritation, burning of the eye caused due to infections, allergy, exposure to chemicals etc.
• Skin disorders
  This medicine is used to relieve swelling, itching, redness, and burning associated with various allergic skin conditions like pruritus, pemphigus vulgaris, seborrhoeic dermatitis etc.

When not to use Betagel Cream?

• Allergy
  This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known history of allergy to it or any other medicine belonging to the category of corticosteroids.
• Systemic Fungal Infection
  This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a fungal infection affecting an internal organ/organs in the body.
• Active untreated infection
  This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from any serious infection and is yet to receive any treatment for the same.

Epidural injections
Use of this medicine in an injectable form given in the lumbar region of the spinal chord has been associated with some major side effects and even fatalities. This route of administration for corticosteroids, in general, should be avoided.

Missed Dose

Infections
This medicine can suppress the immune system especially if the dose is high. This may increase the chances of contracting an infection or reduce the capacity to fight an infection. Hence, this medicine or corticosteroids, in general, should not be used in patients with active infections.
